I am not fully in love with this Duo QL at first sight. I am dazzled by the technical features, the hacking feature and its brilliant execution, the perpetually running foudroyante, the equal balance of the moonphase and the time subdials, and the overall dial layout. I regret that there is a corrector for the moonphase somewhere between 11 and 12 o"clock. I a not a fan of such correctors in general, as I think they mar the case. The moonphase disk itself is not impressive. Thanks to Mostel, I am now spoiled by the sculptured VC moonphase. To be fair, let's see how the actual non-prototype version looks. I am also not in favor of the apertures. I would love to see a version of this watch without the two PR apertures even though, as Jerome and Nicolas rightly point out, there is in fact something to see through these apertures.
But this is a beautiful complicated watch to think about. I think the design and concept is very coherent and strong. As I mentioned above, I personally have some questions about the final execution, but they may be minor ones after thinkkng more about this watch.
In any case, it is an extraordinary realease by JLC and it is wonderful to see how the Duometre line unfolds.
