Jaeger Lecoultre Master Grande Ultra Thin 40 Champagne Dial.
You certainly know the Master Grande Ultra Thin, its 40 mm big / 7, 4 mm high steel case and Cal 899/1 automatic movement. We already discussed it.
But did you know this Champagne dial version?
I find this dial sublime. Really class, elegant, and it changes from the usual colors, blue, black, silver.
A nice retro touch, a touch of warmth, too.
Alas, I would have much preferred no date at all, here again. It spoils a bit the sunburst dial.
Or to see this case for a new Master Control?

I like the date, however...
I would have preferred a little extra $ in the construction: make the date wheel the same color as the dial and make the date font silver to match the index markers. -Dean

I think that this 40mm MUT is one of those rare watches which actually benefits from having a the date window. When I tried one on, I was surprised that the dial seemed to be a huge expanse —— Without the date window, it would be as barren as the plains o...
One last thought...
On this model, the date, logo and 2 index tips at 3 and 9 form a perfect circle within the circle. So, I think the date works VERY WELL on this piece. To me, this piece is as beautiful as the Patrimony or ANY Calatrava. -Dean
