The timer area (with numbers) is tight to the inner ring with the triangle. The red JL logo is on the hour hand and therefore moves with the hour hand to indicate the remaining time to the alarm.
Very clever, but not a specific mechanism. You'll also notice that the calibre is the same as the one of the Master Control Memovox (without the timer function).

The Timer, one of the first JLC in some time that made me look harder, and read on.
I do like it, visually. And the alarm and countdown combination is really very practical. Neither are something most of us think much about when we think about mechanical watches.
Granted, they are nice, I will give JLC that much. But don't you think its time for them to introduce
something new and exciting instead of reissues, or tributes to former watches. Surely someone at JLC can come up with a fresh, new idea and put it into motion.
