Interesting...it's the only word that comes to mind

 

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it's validation by the masses of Rexhep's work. Of course enthusiasts were well aware of this several years ago. On the other hand, this will help to fuel this phenomenon of speculators who want in at all costs simply to obtain a coveted piece, flip it and make a profit. It doesn't change my collecting philosophy and I will continue to buy what I like. I will end by saying, we never see a Rexhep piece for sale; however, we see Journe's all the time, for example. They have fetched extraordinary sums and it stands to reason that a rarer piece from one of the hottest and most competent watchmakers ought to command a significant price as well.
