Indeed I did.

I sold them all probably about 6 years ago. If my memory serves me correctly sold that Jumbo's for about ~$15k each and the AP Jumbo perp skeleton in ss for $42k. I remember when the AP perp skeleton in PT would sit all day for months if not years at $80K. It's human nature to want what you no longer can have. I don't mind that Czapek, Gronefeld, MB&F and others have had to close there books to catch up and keep quality high. There's no games there, they simply need to catch up before they can take orders again. And anyone and everyone can place their orders, not the selected few

Crazy market!

Enter text ...

It is a very small company with good credentials

If they were to receive 1000 orders in a year , they would be pretty overwhelmed

Irrational exuberance....

Plenty of other fishes in the sea, including vintage.

Agreed

What's QTP?

I wish them best of luck!

I would say - those models look way better in pictures than in real life. So we are talking about hype rather than watchmaking, but hopefully they would take advantage of the cash inflows to do more interesting stuff down the line.

I concur!

Agreed

 By: Zazoukian : April 13th, 2022-05:42
I was thinking of getting one last year, went to try it on and decided against it.

Total Marketing Move.

 By: patrick_y : April 12th, 2022-15:37
Isn’t this a press release? Czapek just wants to advertise the fact that their watches are selling well. And there’s a segment of the watch buyer population who buys on hype. Myself included sometimes. I’m not immune. Total human being here. That being sa...

Indeed Patrick

Honestly only few collectors were, and currently are, interested in their classic guillochè models. The Antarctique is indeed a nice sporty watch with a jaw dropping movement, but it follows the current trend. Likely they don't want to become a single-ref...

Makes total sense!

 By: patrick_y : April 12th, 2022-16:13
I concur with your analysis. And yes. Those movements are amazing! They really speak to me! The bracelet of this one, not my cup of tea.

This watch is nice looking

 By: Cozmopak : April 12th, 2022-16:03
But I really don't understand the craze around it. It looks like any other steel sports watch. The movement is interesting, that I will concur with. But there are design features of this watch which are flawed, in my opinion, like the way the endlinks of ...

Understood.

I wasn’t aware

It’s something Czapek is addressing

How many other brands handle matter like the attached! ...

That’s perfect.

 By: Cozmopak : April 12th, 2022-18:18
That makes me feel a lot better about the brand. Thank you for sharing

A good product will create a demand.

 By: jp884 : April 12th, 2022-16:39
It’s that simple. Would we rather all just have them continue taking orders and not be able to fulfill them? Doing so would compromise quality and thus be more of detriment to the brand than just saying we are sorry we can’t take any more orders at this t...

Totally. I'm happy to see a brand bringing out something people want and offering it to customers as fairly as possible. Hyped or not, it's good to see a brand sell well without having to resort to VIP/bundling/fake scarcity shenanigans.

 By: Fastwong : April 12th, 2022-17:43
Moonswatch, Mad1, I think we are seeing things change quickly and brands are finding new, more equitable / less distasteful ways of dealing with limited supply in a way that doesn't have to alienate future customers.

Amen! And let's be honest if we are nit picking what is not overhyped at the moment.

I've owned the AP jumbo 4 times, twice in the blue dial, once in white and once in grey. I've also have owned the AP jumbo perpetual skeleton. Do I think they are nice watches (absolutely). Do I think they are worth the prices they are currently commandin...

I guess you sold them long time ago😅

 By: piccolochimico (aka dsgalaxy1) : April 12th, 2022-19:11
I did the same. Anyway, no regrets, good memories

Indeed I did.

The egalitarian nature of indies is refreshing.

While Czapek is high-level horology (not mid-level)...

It reminds me of this quote from a movie i love on many levels: "Tell him it's a think piece about a mid-level band struggling with their own limitations in the harsh face of stardom." -- Lester Bangs, Publisher/Editor of Cream magazine from the movie Alm...

love that movie! Cheers Marc

I liked the Czapek x Fratello and x Monochrome

 By: christianch : April 12th, 2022-20:12
but were instantly sold out. I don't know if I would have committed as the price is pretty step but the market appetite for sport watches with integrated bracelet is just very strong. A year ago you could find a lot of Laureato available in store, now is ...

That's ok...

 By: oyster case : April 13th, 2022-00:26

Wow, I sense some jealousy with some of those negative comments. Price below quality? How do they know?

 By: Mister M : April 13th, 2022-02:56
Very few reviews online, not read anything about inferior quality. These new watches, very few in the wild as they are still making them, apparently one per day. One person makes each watch from start to finish. So you can understand that they have stoppe...

Price to quality ratio?

 By: icecube4000 : April 13th, 2022-03:42
A genuine question. Those who think the pride to quality ratio is high, have you handled or seen the watch? I am really curious. I have two friends who have an Antarctique. One has an Overseas and Royal Oak whereas the other has an Overseas and Green Stre...

I didn't comment on the quality but..

 By: christianch : April 13th, 2022-08:35
you asked "have you handled or seen the watch?" I didn't because they have no AD here in...Switzerland. I am glad they are successful (I did admire the Fratello collaboration and a bit the Monocrome too) but I wasn't 100% sure because 1) you had to pay bi...

I have not seen an overseas, ro, streamliner in an ad for over a year. Rolex have started to supply, but for presentation only. I agree, it would

 By: Mister M : April 13th, 2022-09:57
Be good to try on, but I prefer the way Czapek are trying to manage expectations. It has always been the case that the ad takes down your details, and you hope and pray you get that call. Czapek took orders, so if you made that order, you are guaranteed t...
