I see your point and I mostly agree.

 

This is not a very creative watch. It is hopping on the integrated bracelet sports watch bandwaggon. Agreed.

However, how many other brands do the same? Is the Odysseus highly necessary? Is the green version of the 5711 the pinnacle of innovation in haute horlogerie?

I‘m not trying to be polemic, I just want to keep the argumentation in perspective. I have never seen the Ripples, and I am not defending it against the valid criticism of being very close to a Nautilus (although maybe less than the LF Sport Auto). But in my subjective view, the case design and proportions seem quite nice, the dial is clean and devoid of a date and unnecessary markings and I was hoping for some high-quality movement to complete a nice, casual watch.

From the comments in this thread I learned there’s not much left of Peter Speake Marin‘s watch savoir faire. Too bad.
