I have numerous collections, hobbies, and interests. At times I become bored with one, so I change my focus for a time.
There are times I buy two or three watches a month, and other times I don't even think about adding another to the collection. During those watch 'downtimes', I'm usually intensely involved seeking to add pieces to other collections -- I have quite a few -- antiquities for one, where I recently spent over two months hunting down some interesting items. Or another time when my focus was adding to my medieval coin collection. Another time my focus was 18th century European porcelain. Plus, I often forget about my collections altogether and focus on my classic cars, or metal detecting for a change of pace.
Every time, when my interests finally return to watches, or any other of my interests, I'm able to enjoy them as if everything is new to me. It's a very satisfying feeling and keeps my love for all I collect and enjoy fresh.
