I bought too many less expensive watches that don't really do anything for me now. I really wish I had waited, looked at more watches, and then bought only a few that were more special. I like most of my watches, and love a few, but, really, I bought too many watches, too fast. As you point out, few watches are so unique that one won't be able to find them again at a good price--especially if one is new to the hobby and not an expert (though I realize that many gentlemen on this site are experts.)
I am now saving up my money for something REALLY special and enjoying the eye candy here in the meantime. I know, however, that when I buy this grail, it will be a wise decision, as opposed to an impulsive one.
As an aside...my favorite watches from my collection: Sarpaneva Harvest Moon, Paul Gerber Model 42, Habring 2 Chronograph, Grand Seiko Hi-Beat SBGH005, and Omega Planet Ocean 42mm.
