Blockchain doesn't require websites. The entire process of validating the authenticity of a product, its ownership and transfer of ownership, and therefore of its value, can be conducted securely from one mobile device to another. The mobile devices themselves are only gateways, because the blockchain on which the data is stored is purely digital and immutable. Ledger entries can be viewed but cannot be accessed without a private key, which only the current owner has access to through his or her public key. This is the entire premise behind the successful auction of non-fungible tokens - digital art that cannot be duplicated in original form.
Have a look at what the Aura Blockchain Consortium is doing. It was set up by LVMH, Prada and Richemont this April to combat counterfeiting, tracking products on the secondary market, and to create a lifetime relationship between brands and owners throughout the life of a product.
p.s. "Philistine" is how native language speakers pronounce "Palestine" today. The word "philistine" is used in the west to imply uneducated and this is due to historical cultural prejudice. In some parts of the world, people still call Christians "Ferengi." This is a corruption of "French" and harks back to the terrible experience of people in west Asia during the first crusade. As as result of these loaded meanings and legitimate sensitivities around them, I choose to use such terms with caution. Best regards.
