Horological Meandering

Thank you for your lind comments on my previous answer Darma!...

... It is very curious and interesting for me to read the responses of other fellow Purists members regarding this issue of wearing or not a watch when sleeping.

Curious, as it is something so "natural" to me, that I never put myself to think if this is normal or not for other watch users to do the same.

Interesting, because I never thought about damaging my watch in any way when sleeping, though my dreaming makes me turn several times changing positions during night.
Never gave a blow to my watch against my night table or headbed in more of half a century of sleeping with my watch on my wrist!

I have to recognize, that in all these years, I gave a very, very few and light bruises to my watch, against my wifey´s watch, as she also sleeps with her watch. Nothing to make me think in changing my habit of wearing my watch at night.

My usual watch has been a Submariner, which was my only watch for many decades.

SInce I took watch collecting 4 or 5 years ago, the watch on my wrist tends to change very often, but I have no problem sleeping with any of my timepieces, which in general are in the 36 mm to 40 mm diameter range.
No real Big watches in my collection, being the only exception my PAM 111 Panerai, whith which I have slept with no problem either.

Now, reading this thread, I understand that "watch sleeping" could be seen as a "not so normal" or popular way of use. Another interesting discovery for me!

By the way, I never sleep with socks!

Thank you for an unusual and interesting thread!
Best cordial regards, Abel.
