im not sure if you are in the minority or majority , however im happy you love your watch and have an inseperable bond with it.

... sleeping with a watch on for the same reason as you - I am not in control and may damage it unknowingly. The few times I have gone to sleep wearing a watch I visually check it over after awakening.
I also try to prolong the life of my leather straps and prefer not to wear them 'unnecessarily'. A metal bracelet would be a different issue.
Interesting to read Abel's comments so, as with everything, you get used to it.

I simply prefer to have nothing on my wrist while I sleep. Certainly a more critical issue for large or very expensive watches, since you cannot possibly consciously control how you move as you sleep, and the solid obstructions that may present themselves.photo trip.
Well, especially, for Seikos in particular as I can't wind my Samurais and the power reserve on both my orange and black one can be a bit dicey.
As a rule though, I take them off when I sleep. Actually I take them off upon reaching the house!
its something i've always done i think. the habit was made permanent when i was in the army as you never leave valuables lying around and never know when your going to be dragged out of bed in a hurry so its always better to wear your watch. never damaged one in nearly 40 years.
