Horological Meandering

Many valid points .....

I find you post both interesting and intriguing because it brings up many points that I can relate to, but not easily answer. While I try to keep my number of watches to a manageable number, there are times when I wonder if I can simplify and get it to 2 or 3, and be content and take a brief hiatus. It's always been a fleeting moment, though, finding there are simply too many styles and features that appeal to me. Maybe at some point I will be content with only 2 or 3 watches. I don't think it would ever only be one watch.

If I had to part with all of my watches but one, I would likely keep my Blancpain Leman GMT for it is the most versatile, spanning dressier and casual fare. It's also looks good on both a strap and bracelet. I would, however, be happier keeping my GO 60's Square in combination with my GMTc. The GO would be the daily wearer with the GMTc being the weekend wearer.

I can see your dilemma in trying to get to one watch. There is the added stress that this has to be the one. I think your approach of finding one daily wearer that meets most of your needs and wants, while adding something special at a later time more doable. I would still like wind up with three, a nice dressier watch on a strap, a true sport watch and something special. For me, something special would be an independent piece that I would view as a keepsake. Best regards.
