It does help fakers to know what their deficiencirs are. Just looking at pictures is not enough as they need to know the important visual cues to copy.
Of course, if they made everything 'perfect' as real pictures, there would be no need to get the real ones. The cost and effort of "making it real" would enforce the same price as the real ones, thus losing the only "advantage" of buying fake.
So, with the Law of Diminishing Returns, fakers make their products with as little investment as they can get away with to achieve "resemblance". Once they have your money in hand, their job is done as they do not expect repeat sales. Knowing what to improve, and at what cost, will help fake "R&D" and the faking fakers.
