I was wondering the same - usually, "is this a fake?" threads get canned right away... this one got a master class...
I'm rather amazed VP didn't spot this right away too. As Graham points out, even the feel/weight is enough.
Odd.
Having said that the argument that the information provided would help a faker doesn't really hold for such a low quality piece - it's not as if these watches are industrial secrets - if one needs to have a good comparison and isolate what needs to be "improved" on a fake, all it takes is to check out the high quality shots on various websites... Some manufacturers even provide comparative shots of high quality fakes and real watches (Hublot for example)...
Nervousness on this topic is rather understandable but maybe it's worth avoiding over-reaction - I'm actually more curious about the whole story behind this 2009 gift!
