Guess no one left in the queue to buy the watches so sale drop drastically. Beside it targeting different segment of people. If there any effect, it would be felt years later when they figure out what really work for the mass population like in the post millienium smart phone whirlpool that sweep so many traditional phone makers towards chapter 11. Maybe by then, quartz crisis history would repeat itself. Thought I think it is already heading that direction since we cross millennium when watch companies randomly list their watch prices based on so call heritage...Cheers.
