That is generally known as the social etiquette. Rudeness should not be allowed but opinion should. In that particular post no opinion about the watch was asked by the OP.
However, I do disagree with censorship. A forum would not be a forum without its members. A swift response by the moderator in that particular post would have been sufficient.
