I haven't seen the threads in question...
But it's not hard to imagine what happened. In my opinion, if someone asks for the group's opinion on a watch or posts about a new watch that has been released then negative opinions are fair game. But if someone posts about their own watch and doesn't ask for opinions then it's in poor taste to trash it. In such cases I follow my mother's advice and if I don't have anything nice to say I don't say anything at all. It's common courtesy.
