I had a speedmaster once. Had it for two weeks then sold it. The size doesn’t work small wrists so I’ve no choice but to go with the Daytona. But both are fine watches.

Tough one
And I'm not really attracted to many rolex models if any. As part of a collection to fit the sports chronograph slot I would probably go Speedy. As a daily and as much as I dislike screw-down pushers I would have to go with the Daytona.
I understand your choice, especially if you have in mind the 50 m WR of the Speedy,
which makes it less GADA. It's something that has always bothered me, personally. However, aesthetically, the Daytona doesn't really resonate with me. Best, Emmanuel

The 50m WR of the speedy is one of the reasons why I chose the 103st (200m WR with pump pushers). The Daytona doesn't speak to me as a chronograph due to screw down pushers. As a fashion item however and with a steel bezel I could get there but it is too ...

In fact the current Daytona is 126500LN with a steel rim around the bezel.
The 116500LN is the previous one. But of course I understand what you mean concerning the 16520. Best, Emmanuel

Not really inferior quality wise But the Daytona just looks much nicer in my wrist About the quality I’m sure the speedmaster is good enough but reliability…. Pretty sure the Rolex wins
I didn't know the Speedmaster had reliability issues: that's sad.
I own neither and the only Daytona I've ever been able to try on looked terrible on my wrist (but maybe it was only the two-tone), contrarily to the Speedmasters... 🤷🏽♂️ Anyway, I think I will never own any of the two because they don't appeal to me enou...
Interesting. I've always been surprised by how wearable the Speedy was on my wrist.

Had numerous Speedy’s and Daytona’s, and while not the most legible, I’ll choose the Daytona all the time due to ruggedness, reliability, ergonomics and superior materials.
But I’ll choose the 126500LN, instead. Ohh, did I mentioned, I don’t care about the hype or what people think when I wear it, unless they pay my bills ))) P.S. There is a Speedy which is superior, but I’ll keep it secret until I get it.😜 ...

On photos, the rim of your 126500LN seemed a little less attractive to me than the no-rim bezel of the 116500LN, but I've never seen either in person, so what do I know! Concerning the Speedy, could it be that you have this one in mind? Best, Emmanuel ...
Fortunately, I don’t have insecurity issues and I bought all my Rolex at retail so no reason to be ashamed.
Also I bought it 80% because I like it(technically) and this 126500LN is much more refined in my eyes as the previous reference which I also owned. The exact reason I bought it was the bezel and the thinner sundial rings which is totally a matter of taste...
As I said, you know much better than me, because you've seen and worn these Daytonas, which isn't my case!

I’ve had both - well actually the 126500LN.
I much preferred the aesthetic of the Speedy and have kept this one. I actually had my 126500 modified by Arrisans de Geneve
With these choices, the Speedy for me.
The current and prior generation steel Daytonas have not appealed to me. Owning a Speedy for 20+ years and three (now two) Daytonas, every time I wear the Speedy I marvel at how legible the dial, hands and markers are. It really feels like watching 4K TV ...

I am not into Rolex,
and not really into Omega as well... But the Omega wins here due to Lemania based movement for me.
Both are nice...but the Speedy for me.
At retail prices it would be hard to pass up the Rolex given the imbedded value of doing so. And I think it's a very attractive watch. I rarely if ever wear my beloved Sub of 30+ years in favor of a Speedy Pro which is so nice on the wrist. The Speedy Pro...

They're happy to sell you one, which is nice ;-) Wish it kept the acrylic crystal....
You can still buy the Hesalite variant.

Daytona camp here
I have been able to purchase six of them in the last four years as gifts for various family members (including myself) - the speedy however never appealed to me visually.
I thought the Daytona was almost unobtainable, so congratulations!
I feel differently about it and about the Omega, but I've tried on only one Daytona in my life. It was a two-tone one and... I didn't like it... 🤷🏽♂️ Best, Emmanuel ...

I was late to that party - never cared for it until a few years ago when my AD offered to supply me. So I filled that gap in my Rolex collection and suddenly family members liked it as well and that's what got it started. And the AD delivered luckily
