Crazy Watches Roll Call.

Jun 21, 2019,08:14 AM

When we think Crazy Watches, we have some mad creations from Independents, in our mind...

Such as:

Max Busser and Friends:

Urwerk:

De Bethune:

But not only! Even the generalists made or still make some horological UFOs.

Ulysse Nardin is the first I am thinking of, with the Freak and the Innovision:

Innovision 2007:

Innovision 2017:

Girard Perregaux, with the Laureato Tourbillon with Spinnel Bridges;

Vacheron Constantin, with the Sputnik:

And Jaeger Lecoultre, with the Extreme Lab:

Blancpain:

This is not a modern phenomenon, though, as we also had, in the Past, some surprising watches, such as:

These Audemars Piguet:

Some Jaeger Lecoultre;

Favre Leuba: ( Credit picture: Unknown ).

Omega:

Rolex:

Yes, it seems that there always was some place for madness in watchmakers' head.

That would make a nice theme, for a collection!

Now it is your turn to share some dreams, watches, or part of your collection.

Best,

Nicolas

I think this might qualify, from the mind of another crazy Frenchman, the brilliant Alain Silberstein! Not mine, but seen in Basel this year. Stefan Kudoke's Kudoktopus madel. I'm not a big fan of skeleton watches, however this one is pretty cool! Cheers,...

On the face of it, this one doesn't look too crazy. Someone else on this forum posted a compelling photo of one many years ago that piqued my interest. I searched eBay and found one for a few hundred bucks and instantly pulled the trigger. Once I got it d...

Not super crazy...

 By: NoH : June 21st, 2019-14:40
There are too many on the β€œshort” list, and not enough funds to do it all

I was happy with the size on my wrist.

 By: NoH : June 22nd, 2019-13:51
Big, but in this style it was acceptable. Amazingly light! Almost felt like I wasn’t wearing a watch at all! All the best, Niall

My pictures, and my wrist. But not all my watches!!! The only MB&F that fits my small wrist. Some Celtic watchmaking; Fiona Kruger. The beloved Star Wheel. I looked at so many of these in the last the several years, never pulled the trigger. LF x Urwerk. ...

Of course.

 By: Jay (Eire) : June 22nd, 2019-04:22
I think it is as simple as liking the idea / concept of the watch (and it being what I thought was good value) but not finding the style something appealing enough. Of course the recent PT version with the reddish copper guilloche that Phillips sold IS so...

All crazy watches i really like .

 By: Watchonthewrists : June 22nd, 2019-00:28
Cant get enough of these kind of watches πŸ™πŸ»πŸ€—

So much fun.

This post has inspired me to only look at the more unusual stuff on the next few AD/watch store visits. I’ll make sure to take photos!

Yes please! [nt]
