I think it is as simple as liking the idea / concept of the watch (and it being what I thought was good value) but not finding the style something appealing enough. Of course the recent PT version with the reddish copper guilloche that Phillips sold IS something that appeals but it no longer was at a price point which I considered to be (good) value.
My eyes are still open though!

This post has inspired me to only look at the more unusual stuff on the next few AD/watch store visits. I’ll make sure to take photos!
