Horological Meandering

Another Vote for VC

All of the watches you describe are wonderful watches and would serve you well for a lifetime.  So, as you say, it's really all about personal preference.  In addition, though, some people (few probably) will form opinions of you based on your watch.  Many people recognize Rolexes and will generally think: "There is a guy with a fancy watch."  The other watches will be more anonymous.  Some people will recognize the Patek and think: "There is a guy with a really fancy watch."  People will look at the VC and think: "That's a nice-looking watch; I haven't seen one of those before."

People into watches will probably think about it all very differently.   Some of them love Rolexes and appreciate them for the popular, innovative, quality timepieces they are.  Others will say they are too obvious.  Nearly everybody respects Pateks, but some will say you don't go to Patek for a sporty watch.  Some might say you don't go to VC for a sporty watch, but it's my feeling that the Overseas line has a lot of character and represents good value.

Last, but not least, you listed the VC first, so that says something about where you're leaning, because it's not an alphabetical list.  Also, it meets your criteria, where the PP's don't.

Regards,
Jon
