Rolex quality is superior.
I’ve had so many watch brands. Quality of product for Rolex is unmatched. Probably the best quality control out there. Accuracy and durability is unmatched. Rolex is always constantly innovating. Small changes that add up. I think that’s called consistency. It also helps that they have timeless designs that change little over time. Lots of brands look for the new hot trend. Rolex is consistent. Often duplicated, never replicated. Now, I’m not speaking about high horology here. But if you want a watch that works and will work, Rolex is a great choice. And like all brands that care about their image, their price and inventory control AND marketing are unmatched. From major brands, only Patek is on the same level. IMHO, of course (so don’t kill ☠️ me).
What GP management has been (and still is) overlooking

I would have to check exactly when. But the dealer I work with, I have a 20 year relationship. Maybe they don't discount for everyone, but I get everything at discount, except boutique purchases.

To „make it work“for a broader mass, you need to have a longterm strategy for the products, the quality of them, the service and the price. GP and many other brands don‘t have that.

My problem is that I love most of their models. So once I own one, it’s almost impossible to let it go. I did recently sell my Starbucks, but only because I thought its size was just a little bit too big. 40 mm is really my limit.
