A percentage to percentage comparison will not work IMHO.
The point is absolute numbers.
Many many many thousands of Daytonas were made. Maybe 300,000? I’m really not sure.
I estimate that 600 made of the laureato-olimpico which are individually engraved on the case-back.
So again my post was to encourage collectors to look beyond the hype and more common pieces. And then decide. Either way, one can also have both the Daytona and the Laureato-Olimpico right? My buddy in Singapore has done exactly that. He has both.

I don't get it. You're comparing a limited edition GP to a whole line in the Rolex catalog and then inferring hype based on number of listings?
Again, I'm not saying the Daytona doesn't have more notoriety, I just don't understand how this comparison quantifies that.
