There is no such thing as a good baguette in the USA. I have hunted high and low.

 

Maison Kayser had a decent baguette. But they filed for Chapter 11 during the pandemic. The petite baguette you get on Air France beats any bakery bought baguette which are invariable rock hard or so spongy they are used in the operating room to soak up blood.

A good baguette with French butter or a nice soft cheese is one of life’s greatest and simplest pleasures.
