Lust for .... crust.

By: COUNT DE MONET : July 31st, 2022-11:54
You only need four ingrediences, time and heat to create such a lovely thing like baguette.

So, a check for the crust. Now what count also a lot are the pores in the baguette.

Have to nake one with real baguette flour soon. Used type 550 and not 812 or the French T65. But still a decent result.

My fave type of bread. YUM!!!

Ever tried making yourself?

It is actually a "roasted bread", a baguette.

My wife bakes from scratch. ❀️

I'm all thumbs when it comes to baking. But give me a 35-day dry-aged steak and I'm your chef. 😎

Hahahaaa ... πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘Beef and men!

That looks mouthwateringly delicious!

Very simple to make. The dough ripens 48h in the fridge, folding it every 6 or 12 h.

When I bake results are normally like this ..

Homemade sourdough with sesame seeds on the crust.

I know you can make bread, dear friend πŸ‘ Looks like bought from a bakery!

That’s the best compliment you could give me….
This one was straight out of the oven !

Nice decorative cuts on the crust.

You can make also a baguette with a partial sourdough, the dough is called poolish.
The result is a more harmonious pattern of pores.
I will try that too for my next baguette and ordering also the actual flour 812 or T65 of the internet.
I used type 550 flour this time due to its availability in the supermarket.
Isn't it great fun, banking bread? 🀣

Yes it is …

Try using T55 for French style baguettes.

There is no such thing as a good baguette in the USA. I have hunted high and low.

Maison Kayser had a decent baguette. But they filed for Chapter 11 during the pandemic. The petite baguette you get on Air France beats any bakery bought baguette which are invariable rock hard or so spongy they are used in the operating room to soak up blood.

A good baguette with French butter or a nice soft cheese is one of life’s greatest and simplest pleasures.

Homemade is the alternative here! ;-)

Looks delicious! With fresh baguette like this, my favorite is to have them with peanut butter and a glass of red wine! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
