You only need four ingrediences, time and heat to create such a lovely thing like baguette.



So, a check for the crust. Now what count also a lot are the pores in the baguette.





Have to nake one with real baguette flour soon. Used type 550 and not 812 or the French T65. But still a decent result.

My fave type of bread. YUM!!!

You can make also a baguette with a partial sourdough, the dough is called poolish.
The result is a more harmonious pattern of pores.
I will try that too for my next baguette and ordering also the actual flour 812 or T65 of the internet.
I used type 550 flour this time due to its availability in the supermarket.
Isn't it great fun, banking bread? 🀣

There is no such thing as a good baguette in the USA. I have hunted high and low.

Maison Kayser had a decent baguette. But they filed for Chapter 11 during the pandemic. The petite baguette you get on Air France beats any bakery bought baguette which are invariable rock hard or so spongy they are used in the operating room to soak up blood.

A good baguette with French butter or a nice soft cheese is one of life’s greatest and simplest pleasures.

Homemade is the alternative here! ;-)
