1986, the last time Canada was in the World Cup

Just seemed appropriate after a tough loss to a very good Belgium team. Next match hopefully we win and a Cinderella story that is ripe for the picking ensues. Oh and the wine review? Drinkable ...

A tough loss for sure, that penalty miss hurt…

The 1986 Margaux was excellent, but not sublime. I think the thing that separates spectacular vintages of Margaux are the depth of secondary and tertiary notes, spine and power like the '96 or 2000. Still it was a nice consolation after a tough loss.

I’ve had several bottles of ‘82 Mouton and every bottle has been superb, but

I’ve never actually had the ‘82 Lafite. The reviews of ‘82 Lafite were great but not spectacular like the ‘82 Mouton and some other blockbuster vintages of Lafite, but nothing beats actual experience and tasting it. I keep extensive tasting notes for spec...

Thank you my friend. I think the effort and athleticism of the Canadian team is commendable, but compared to

the finest Western European teams and Brazil there is another level of finesse. If they can make it past the group stage they might surprise a team like Iceland some years ago. Here's hoping

Mate that wine 👌🏼
