Im on the fence I could mix them, I would take the applied numerals on to the old dial Thanks MO

...but the day and month apertures are too low on the dial. The old version had the same problem but the design did a better job of hiding it.

Its interesting how small details can change the perception. I almost think it is a different movement, which it obviesly isnt.

I believe the chunky frame in the apertures for the new variant accentuates how the upper bank is closer to midline than the lower. The raised leap indicator doesn't help in that regard.

Like you said Christian, there are many other brands that are more renowned for their PCs, and I also find the "day month" on the new version too low as others have said, and it's much more noticeable on this version. I really want to own a FPJ perpetual ... 

The exception being the Astronomic, obviously 😉

I asked him about the Split in the classic range. I tried to convince him by saying that there is no chronograph in that collection currently and he needed that. His answer was typical FP style. “NO NEVER! And I don’t need a chronograph in the classic ran... 

But I can imagine I'd probably want the new version with silver dial as it will be more timeless long term.

I suppose the silver for the long run. Less obvious but also more versatile. You didnt feel it was "too cold" without any contrast?

But just imagine a CS version QP and kinda have a good feel for what to expect.

Thanks for posting this Christian. I always reserve judgment until I have viewed the piece in the real world. My initial impression is that the watch is best summed up with the overriding impression of “quality”. The rhodium plated hands make for a change... 

I can’t wait to see it in person as I have found that pictures do not do the watches justice. I owned the old model but never got completely comfortable with the clover design but that is just a personal aesthetic preference. I appreciate the instant chan... 

Its a watch we dont see much here. I understand what you say about legibility. I could be a bit concerned about that for the silver dial. But as you say, we need to see the real thing. Thanks for chiming in.

I was quite surprised by this update. Im wondering if FP felt it was needed to sell it or what his motief was. I cas see your point on the date being a bit Lange, as well as the strict symmetry may add to that "classical" feeling.

Have you looked at the H.Moser & Cie. Endeavour Perpetual Calendar. It has an amazing dial and is one of my favorite PCs. I suppose th eanswer to your question is that most PCs hav very busy dials with a lot of information, so to make the PC readable the ...

They did not have the same restriction policy on them. Like you mention. However, when you talk to staff, so few where produced that they are very limited in numbers.

I don't think production has been delayed so much as they are very limited and there is already a line. But yes, I do have something to look forward to!
