I have always thought that the juxtaposition of the oval shape within the dial, within the circular shape of the dial and case, is very cool. This results in the smaller 3 and 9 numerals, which I think adds a very cool, subtle intrigue. It can even create a certain impression even without being specifically noticed; however, then if/when it is noticed, becomes a “discovery” of sorts of the informed viewer or for the wearer. Separately, I have always loved the pronounced metal numerals on Journe pieces which have them. Using that design element here on these new QP designs is just so cool, to me. The smaller 3 and 9 numerals are now an even more integral element, but still just subtle enough that the overall balance and “trickery” of the original design is maintained.
