I’ve discussed this with some of you privately and thanks for the feedback, but I wanted to open it up to the wider audience. I’m interested to hear all opinions on and experience with these two watches, the original Aluminum and the follow up in Titanium...  

is a grail watch for me, for years I've tried to get one but it gets away from me due to the high price which is what it is for such a special and avant garde Sports watch. Most people are critical of its resemblance to a Swatch Irony which for me is like... 

There are detractors whom liken the look to other things, like the Swatch you mention. But like you, that’s just noise in my opinion. I wish you luck in the search for the Alu piece. They are out there, but prices can vary wildly. As does condition.

Like you, initially I could not get over the busyness. And the hands, there’s something wrong with the hour/minute hands on these watches (the more traditional Journe hands, uniform in material/colour , would be a better fit). However, all that said in re... 

For me, I will choose titanium for its style and the aluminium for its rarity. There is no loser really, good luck!

I had not seen the previous post, it’s interesting and thanks for sharing. I’ve heard many describing this watch as a gimmick, but I don’t see it that way. That said, I do understand where those people are coming from.

I never owned one but have tried them on thanks to a buddy who has both actually. To me it feels forced, like Journe saying we have to have a sporty watch. It just doesn’t feel like their space.

I think there’s a lot of merit to the original Alu concept, and with the Ti (both the version above and the current models) he has created something which on the wrist feels incredible good. RM achieved the same, excellent wrist feel, almost unnoticeable....

My point was sometimes a stretch is really just a quick money grab and lazy. This does not seem like that.

Otherwise not a bad effort, especially for such a small brand.

The classic CS is simply way better looking. If you put any sport one next to either the gold or platinum, it feels like a cheap replica rather than a sporty interpretation. Maybe some argument can be made for owning both. I personally don't like to own t...

My opinion is based on having many opportunities to compare the two side by side in real life. I doubt I would feel the same way if I see a Rolls and a Pagani next to each other. But also they are not derivatives of each other. I think the main point is t... 

On the (very few) occasions when I've tried a sport Journe, I was really taken with it.... until I turned back to my platinum CS.

But that’s the fun here, we can’t all like the same things and “liking” is entirely subjective (or most of the time at least, we do all suffer from outside influences in terms of our likes and dislikes).

My entire collection was never defined by what’s unique, but rather what spoke to me at the time. It’s a constant evolution and I have pieces I know I will grow out of and ones I will keep for a long time.

I think both have their merits and it really comes down to what you think complements your collection and wearing needs the most. The full bracelet aluminum I have tried in the simpler Octa Sport and thought it felt superb on the wrist. I believe the case... 

The rumors regarding the Alu are something I’ve not been able to verify, and I’ve spoken to a several owners of the Alu watches. But this is something I’m trying to get as much colour on as possible. A second question I have on materials is regarding the ...

The parts question was also something that is a factor, especially for wear and tear on the bracelet. It’s also helpful to know that the official comment is that the staining seems to be irreversible. My view and the consensus from the people I have spoke...

Has there to your knowledge been any issues surrounding the rubber components on these references? I am mostly referring to the crown as it will be subject to winding on a mechanical watch but also curious on the bracelet as I suspect after some wear the ... 

No quality issues with the rubber. I asked mr Journe why he had out phased the rubber parts. The answer was two fold. First, the supplier of the rubber parts had become unstable and causing delays. This had made him reconsider the rubber. The rubber parts...

I just got mine Rattrapante ( you can review my post ) , bracelet with rubber. The bracelet rubber got off one from day TWO. And the second rubber comes off from day THREE. After One year waiting I have to send it back. One year waiting, Two day enjoyment...  

I have to say this is the first time I hear about this. Has anyone else here in this forum had similar problems with their rubber bracelet?

The problem I am faced with is possibly worse... but we shall see !

I picked up a CTS late last year. Very happy to add it to the collection.

I had the 42mm centigraphe sport on thebrubber strap. Loved the watch. On the titanium bracelet or if possible a red rubber strap it is a keeper. I replaced it with the fold ratrapante partially because I wanted a bracelet.

I’ve talked to a lot of owners of these watches, mostly the older models, and this is not an issue anyone had identified. Hopefully there is a fast remedy and you have this watch back on the wrist ASAP. Please do keep us updated on progress.
