Crazy times
Dec 09, 2018,22:37 PM
Just under 2 years ago, the boutique in LA had emailed me about an incoming CB to be had at retail. That was after my buddy had gotten one from an AD at 10% discount. Oh how the times have changed. I truly believe that these brands (Rolex, PP and FPJ) will suffer in the long-term if they keep creating a huge supply-demand mismatch for their entry pieces. After all, they are “cash flow” pieces, and the fewer you sell the less money generated. Perhaps I’m in the minority here, but the current demand for SS Patek 5711, SS Rolex Pepsi and SS Rolex daytona hasn’t necessarily pushed me to buy these pieces in precious metals in order to get into the favored-list at ADs.
Eager to hear the comments of others
P.S: the chronometre souverain has the same movement material and finishing, and has the added power reserve functionality. So it is potentially a better option

if a brand what to give to enthusiast only, I have a great respect for that choice! Not every brand is able to do that. Best, Mahesh.,

wow times have changed with the demand for CB. Just curious, on the form it mentions "owner and watch amateur", is this referring to other watch brands?
Yes exactly.

I compared the CS and CB a few years ago when they both were readily available and preferred the CS. Obviously a subjective judgment, but to me the dial on the CS is more textured and also better balanced, with the power reserve. That said, my experience ...
A deployant clasp for the CB is also coming out...

I have a feeling it will not be entirely tantalum, given the properties of the metal (gold is more springy, white gold is used in FPJ's pt deployant clasp).

I bought one in 2014, pre owned but had only been worn a few times, and I paid well under retail, and I don’t have to look particularly hard to find it. I was under the impression that they were still relatively easy to find on the secondary market withou...
Not sure if this is a good trend...

I think Patek started this a while back. Watch Amateur? Where do we draw the definition? Imagine one day you walk into a watch store and before you can make any purchase, they need to do a thorough background check including your current net worth, your c...

Big change in just over a year!
By: Skyrider01 : December 11th, 2018-10:48
About 15 months ago I walked into a boutique and they had one available for sale. At the beginning of this year, the wait was less than a year. Now, we are up to a 5 year wait! 15 months ago, I wasn't ready to drop $20+ on a watch so I passed on the one w...
Can't wait to see that.
