After over three years, a major effort in reducing the collection from over 60 to 12! I'm done (that's what I'm trying to convince myself)!
Sure took a while and it was one heck of a difficult journey of decisions. In some cases, just to let go, and in many others, letting go of a few while considering which to add.
Well, I've left a few (really!) on the side that's not included in the 12, as I justify that I don't quite need to include if they're gifts, or cost less than $1k when I purchased them new.
Happy to say that there were some mainstays....those which never even saw the draft culling pages.
This Breguet Marine was one of them. In time, I'll show those that made it.

But as a summary, my process of elimination was based on : 1. Legibility - if I struggled to read it it had to do, and this included functions like dates 2. Wearability - if it tired my wrist after just a few hours 3. Too blingy 4. Too recognizable 5. Fun...

I don't think we ever try to get to 60
It just "happens". Seems like every AD, every watch show and every blog I read, there seems to have been that "one more" that I "need" to have! LOL!
That was surely a tough time!

You probably bought them because you like them. Sometimes tastes change but otherwise letting go is usually a difficult process but also one that might leave you with a better feeling about your horology hobby,

Tastes definitely change, or evolve. The satisfaction of making some of the decisions is good though. Especially when it looks like a tenable collection that can actually be worn regularly
