Horological Meandering

After over three years, a major effort in reducing the collection from over 60 to 12! I'm done (that's what I'm trying to convince myself)! Sure took a while and it was one heck of a difficult journey of decisions. In some cases, just to let go, and in ma...

I’d love to hear more details on your thought process and how you managed it. How many of the original 60 made it into the final 12? I think a lot of us contemplate downsizing the collection, great to have a successful case study like you to prove it can ... 

But as a summary, my process of elimination was based on : 1. Legibility - if I struggled to read it it had to do, and this included functions like dates 2. Wearability - if it tired my wrist after just a few hours 3. Too blingy 4. Too recognizable 5. Fun...

I'm impressed, a lot, that you managed to go from 60 to 12. I try never get to 60 ;-) but so far I haven't managed to let go a single watch. I know though that it's time to get on that difficult journey. Looking forward to reading your story about the tou... 

It just "happens". Seems like every AD, every watch show and every blog I read, there seems to have been that "one more" that I "need" to have! LOL!

From 60 to 12 is certainly a huge effort that I probably would not be able to do

but I had no idea you were reducing it from 60 to 12. I have 6 and am hoping to get to 12 one day!!

Tastes definitely change, or evolve. The satisfaction of making some of the decisions is good though. Especially when it looks like a tenable collection that can actually be worn regularly
