Wow, that is quite the journey from 60 down to 12!
I’d love to hear more details on your thought process and how you managed it. How many of the original 60 made it into the final 12? I think a lot of us contemplate downsizing the collection, great to have a successful case study like you to prove it can be done! 😀

But as a summary, my process of elimination was based on : 1. Legibility - if I struggled to read it it had to do, and this included functions like dates 2. Wearability - if it tired my wrist after just a few hours 3. Too blingy 4. Too recognizable 5. Fun...

I don't think we ever try to get to 60
It just "happens". Seems like every AD, every watch show and every blog I read, there seems to have been that "one more" that I "need" to have! LOL!

From 60 to 12 is certainly a huge effort that I probably would not be able to do

You probably bought them because you like them. Sometimes tastes change but otherwise letting go is usually a difficult process but also one that might leave you with a better feeling about your horology hobby,

Tastes definitely change, or evolve. The satisfaction of making some of the decisions is good though. Especially when it looks like a tenable collection that can actually be worn regularly
