Chopard

I did not like them at first

When the dauphine fusee hands were first introduced in the 2nd series of L.U.C Collection, I did not like change for the sake of change.

The dauphine hands worked fine, I thought.

It was explained that the dauphine fusee hands allowed better legibility of dial and hands.
With the centre of mass changed by the mass of fusee segment, the pointy segment can be thinner and not obstruct the dial, especially for complicated displays.
Whatever is pointed at, is also easier to read.

The increased bevelled areas allows capture of all available light for legibility of the hands.
Finally, the complex shape makes it difficulty to copy and fake.
