Who can remember the Seventies?

I suspect some WPSers will remember the decade fondly, as did my friend who put together this show at the San Diego Automotive Museum. Personally, I'm old enough, but afraid to go there ... again.

Starsky & Hutch, anyone?

AMC Gremlin "Levi" edition

Jeans were the thing.

Ford LTD Country Squire

The perfect "Family Truckster" before the era of the SUV killed large wagons. RIP

Long, low, wide and rectangular were popular themes

Look at the dock bumpers required for this 5000 lb 2-door coupe.

A favorite of mine - the Riviera boattail in emerald green and cream vinyl top

The thought of owning one of these still excites me

I've had two Rivieras in the past, but they were 60's models.

CADILLAC in butterscotch

Interiors were much more colorful back then - none of this black, or grey or black/grey.

DATSUN (Nissan) 510 Wagon

PLYMOUTH DUSTER "Hang 10" edition

And finally, a FORD PINTO DISCO (customized by owner with 1000's of mirrored glass tiles)

He even put tiles on the window glass, dashboard and door trims

Not forgetting the hub caps

I hope you enjoyed the blast through the past, and if you come to SoCal in the next 3-4 months, check it out in person. There are plenty of other cars I didn't have energy to record.

Cazalea

PS - this one's for Bill

The End
