yes the exterior paint is amethyst with a magenta interior and the painted speedlines were added. So it's literally purple on purple on purple. MY brother said looking at dad you can just see a warm smile come across his face when they handed him the keys. That makes it all worth it.
Vintage is not for the faint of heart.
The refurbishment took 18 months and a $120k to sort this car out. So a word of caution for those that want an old air cooled these cars suck up a lot of time and a lot of money. So purchase with caution. As some of you guys may remember I bought this car...

Have to find a guy to work on them Then get it to him Then get it back Then it breaks again etc My dad was a car guy growing up, and I got to witness it first hand haha
I have vivid memories when I was young my dad had a 67 fastback mustang that was racing yellow with a black stripe down the center.
I remember we would find an empty straight away and he would look at me and say, are you ready? Right before he would punch it and I would be looking at nothing but blue sky as the front end would lift off the ground. Man those memories are the best.

Amethyst is such a great colour.
Even better in person. The 30 years jubilee 911 was in that colour and I once saw one on the Autobahn. It took some effort not to get out of my lane while staring at it

Yea I have never purchased anything from him but I hear he's good. These cars are so difficult to find the perfect spec and clean with no accidents and that you really have to be thorough.
They are a time and money pit. SO you have to have the stomach for that. Also, these are worlds apart to the newer stuff. This car can kill you if you don't respect it. The new stuff it's hard to break it loose.

Perfectly stated Cpt, my 993 turbo has been out for 18 months now as well.
And there have been many of discussion on why do I do this to myself and I should just sell the damn thing. But I know when it's done you won't be able to pry the keys out of my hand. Love/hate relationship with these vintage.
