Maybe...

The first Range Rover in 1969 was a  2 door, the 4 door didn't come along until 1980.

No one called it  a "Coupe" at the time but it was one of the best cars I have ever owned.
I brought my first Range Rover in 1975 finally selling it in 1992 after driving 450,000km
I wish I had kept it.
I brought a second one in 1988, it  was a 4 door and had exoctic things like power steering,
air conditioning, electric windows, automatic and a lot more creature comforts, despite that I
much preferred the 1975 for off road work.

Range Rover Coupé SV.

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-12:59
More than 500 HP. A 700 Nm torque. 8 Cylinders. Here is the new beast. Now the killing question: Is a Range Rover made to be a coupé? Best, Nicolas ...

LOL,

 By: InHavenPro : April 6th, 2018-13:04
my answer is a simple No . Cheers, Filip

To some extent....

 By: InHavenPro : April 6th, 2018-13:17
I can comprehend the Evoque coupe being that the Evoque is a fashion statement vehicle to begin with, but the full size RR is sheer mockery to me....

Roger. 5 on 5. [nt]

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-13:23

So sad ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : April 6th, 2018-13:21
This is simply too weird. I assume it will cost quite a sum. For that, you can get not only fun, but a better looking SUV. Marcus

Agreed, Marcus. [nt]

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-13:22

I’d want to put all that power

 By: nomadgiles : April 6th, 2018-13:30
in a coupe that actually went around corners - but maybe it’s supposed to take the crow flying route in which case I guess the 4WD will come in handy 😉 Big NO. A Chelsea Tractor for DINKYs.

😉 In an era where the human race is consuming and polluting ever more to its own detriment

 By: nomadgiles : April 6th, 2018-13:48
cars such as this seem to be designed for the Nero’s amongst us - pass me a fiddle......

Fine Hungarian food, beer and Scottish gin

ROFL! [nt]

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-23:53

It needs 5 doors! So nope. [nt]

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 6th, 2018-13:56

I tend to agree. [nt]

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-23:53

Yes if…

 By: Cpt Scarlet : April 6th, 2018-13:57
it’s only got two doors !

Not this one..

 By: john c : April 6th, 2018-14:00
..but the RR Sport SVR would really suit me. John.

You mean 4 doors? [nt]

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-23:54

No, a Sport with 2 doors.

 By: john c : April 6th, 2018-23:57
Best, John.

I'd like to see the Queen driving it surrounded by her dogs

 By: piccolochimico (aka dsgalaxy1) : April 6th, 2018-14:06
It's whale, besides that with 4 seats only. What a waste of space

Historically it is the only correct version going back to the roots

 By: dedestexhes : April 6th, 2018-14:20
however, as dimensions have changed, this does not feel right.... Dirk

Thanks, Salman. [nt]

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : April 6th, 2018-16:24
Ridiculous

Now, that's clear. [nt]

 By: amanico : April 6th, 2018-23:58

NO !

 By: Walter2 : April 6th, 2018-16:57
May be this is the first step, and i say NO! The second step is a two-door Cabriolet and i say also NO! Best Walter

:))) [nt]

 By: amanico : April 7th, 2018-02:42

That car is a lot of fun...

 By: SALMANPK : April 6th, 2018-18:15
perfect for the decaying Urban jungle with construction works and potholes everywhere. S

Too bad the Bentley SUV isn't better looking...

 By: patrick_y : April 6th, 2018-18:29
Has anyone seen the new Bentley "Bentayga"? It's actually shockingly not a very good looking vehicle! Design looks rushed. If I were going to spend a lot of money on an SUV, I'd get the Mercedes G Class. Although, they're not especially great to drive; lo...

Two weeks with the Bentayga

 By: Big Sexy : April 6th, 2018-19:32
Not sure I agree with rushed you have really spend to time with the Bentayga to appreciate the girls curves. There is no other suv on the planet that can compete at any price point even the Range Rover above, the 600 hp on tap will give you P100 mind bend...

I borrowed a manufacture car too for a few days...

 By: patrick_y : April 6th, 2018-20:19
I had a car with "Manufacture" plates for a few days. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed. I didn't drive it back to back, but I liked the handling of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo more. Admittedly the 48V system for the chassis dynamics in the Bentayga are pro...

Ass for every seat....

 By: Big Sexy : April 6th, 2018-20:44
I too am a Lamborghini man... as well as Bentley, this truck was part of a perk of owing Bentley’s call Bentley on demand... when I travel to Southern California they will provide me with a “loaner” during my stay not sure of any other brand that provides...

With unfailing brilliant designs like these

 By: Mostel : April 7th, 2018-16:46
yes, RR never gets it wrong. I really want one --one day--but the tragic MPG always kills it for me--a damn nice vehicle but... I guess I am somewhat practical. In terms of design, yes a coupe, I have no argument at all.

Of Course It's Made To Be a Coupe

 By: Tim_M : April 8th, 2018-06:33
The original was a three-door coupe for years (credit to Autocar magazine). Best, Tim ...

An old friend had one of these many yrs ago - it was rather ‘agricultural’

 By: nomadgiles : April 8th, 2018-12:13
but great for peering over the high roadside hedges in Cornwall & Devon. He was a keen mechanic (he plonked a Mercedes diesel engine in place of the V8) and dab handed welder, so it was kept on the road way beyond most of its era. A landed & lorde...

I’ll take a risk - I love it, the first Range Rover has 2 doors, so why not this “Gentleman’s Express”?

 By: cazalea : April 8th, 2018-13:37
It’s not more ostentatious or excessive than a Jensen Interceptor FF Or a Lincoln Mark V ...

I wonder if in 40+ yrs time this Evoque will have survived with the same cache as the FF? 😉

 By: nomadgiles : April 8th, 2018-23:59
Great car BTW! Drove a Mk4 (upgraded by Jensen in early 80’s) FF from UK to Southern Spain - I stopped for a nights stay with a friend in Central Paris and was rather nervous of getting it scratched.

To buy something that large it should have 4 doors.

 By: JerryW : April 8th, 2018-14:32
To many other great options for 2 doors.

That depends...

 By: KMII : April 8th, 2018-22:59
Range Rover came as a 3 door for quite a while in the beginning, before a 5 door was introduced. In fact there were even outside companies modifying three doors into five doors before Range Rover discovered the niche for themselves So in that sense, yes. ...

Never... [nt]

 By: Dave G : April 10th, 2018-03:27
