Not knowing what is different about the movements, pricing it at $10 says to me they really want people to say yes to the swap

Why? If they really want to give you a new movement essentially for the cost of servicing the old one, my guess is there are issues with the older movement and it is cheaper for them to give you a new one than run the risk the old one will come back for a repeat service under warranty. If you think there's value in keeping the old one from a collector perspective I get that but for me wanting the most trouble free/reliable option, I'd take the new movement.
