Intriguing move …
Very intriguing move … which could be interesting if they really close the door on “no service for stolen watches”.
We have had for a long time discussion about the allegedly limited willingness of the brands to track (incl database) of stolen property.
Now the incentives between the original owner and the manufactures are aligned to enforce consequently “ no services for watches reported stolen”.
Looking at something like AP RO, I think that servicing stolen watches might become very hard if AP refuses to sell parts.
Cool idea! So many new business models emerging, from certified pre owned from Rolex and now the insurance from AP!
Looking forward to hearing what you all think!
Cheers,
Jerome
