Walter Lange was mit only the Membrane of the Lange family Who drove the resurrection of the brand. He was also the one who saw it being killed by some stray bombs at the end of WW II (indeed an attack against retreating German soldiers, not target at Glashütte itself), but much more by the dismantlement by the Sovjet Union and the confiscation by the socialist GDR.
Himself Walter Lange had to flee to West Germany because he was about to be sent to some Sovjet Uranium mine if I remember correctly, which would have meant certain death.
So imagin what it must have meant to him to have being part of bringing the brand back to where it is today.
A true gentleman and heir in the watch business.
Rest in peace.
