The purpose of the Maltese cross was to "reduce" the power reserve in order that the watch always works with the best amplitude. So with the new Datograph, at the very end of the power reserve, it could have a less accurate behaviour. The power reserve indicator is here to remind us to wind it and to be always with the best power reserve.

My view on the novelties is that they are ALL EXCELLENT.
I love each of the new watches released this year, as much as i love the previous ones, and can see no reason to complain. Lange is still the finest brand in the world.
