I'm receiving it back today...
Mar 03, 2020,18:06 PM
The Omega official who spoke with me on my watch said that I must turn the crown just once and then wear the watch. It will wind itself up with the wrist movement and there is no need to fully wind the watch up. I am very surprised by this suggestion since all manually wound watches need to be fully wound daily to keep them going I would appreciate if all Moonshine wearers share their experience. I am yet to try this out and will post my experience in the coming days.

A special request for our community members that own a Moonshine: . . .
By: Dr No : January 30th, 2020-09:33
. . . would you be willing to participate in a ten-day 'on-the-wrist' timing test? The reason I ask is because the cal 3861 represents a third-generation Professional movement that should in theory perform exceptionally well. There are enough owners in th...
Unfortunately i don't own one,
By: raymond74 : January 30th, 2020-11:55
but I was allowed to see, feel and handle it by one of our forum-menbers. What a magnificent piece! All the lucky owners out there, congrats!!!
True, true. But . . .

. . . we should try for meaningful data that will stand up to scrutiny. I realize ten days amounts to a torture test. I'm also confident every volunteer will survive. ...
I realize this is a daunting request, gents, but . . .
By: Dr No : January 30th, 2020-14:26
. . . this is a community known for sharing and caring. There's at least half a dozen Moonshines (and thanks, Bruce, for mentioning the steel Apollo 11) here that would form the basis of a reasonable sample population. Omega must've experienced extensive ...

You need to define some standard conditions, plus some variables or acceptable windows I came from an Engineering background so it’ll be easier if you set the process and procedures for us to follow.
We can discuss those details . . .
By: Dr No : January 30th, 2020-14:55
. . . after we get our volunteers. For now, I'm looking for as many brave and hardy souls as possible. The more, the better. ...

at least I will try and see how it plays out. For parameters, this is what I suggest: 1. Wind the watch once per day (24h cycle) at or around the same time every day to be consistent 2. Wear the watch as much as possible during the day regardless of activ...
Ten isn't divisible . . .
By: Dr No : January 30th, 2020-15:11
. . . by four. Also, it's tougher to do consistently unless you have a proper jig. And I doubt any of us have one. But dial up / down should be do-able for everyone.
. . . or twelve - even better! . . .
By: Dr No : January 30th, 2020-16:07
. . . but seriously, it'll be difficult to consistently maintain perpendicular position without a dedicated jig.
Moonshine speedie back at Biel
By: BWA : January 30th, 2020-23:08
My brand new Moonshine Speedie is back at Biel HQ since it stopped one morning on a full wind. So much for an 'advanced movement' that is a 'master chronometer' that went to the moon and back. They are still checking it. TOTALLY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE EXPE...
Sorry to hear that you've had a problem with your Moonshine...
By: holdemchamp1225 : January 30th, 2020-23:40
so far, I have not had any problems BUT I can assure you it has nothing to do with this specific model as I have had problems with several NEW watches from AP, Blancpain, Patek, Rolex, and Vacheron which also had to be resolved under warranty. Many of tho...
Fingers crossed..

Yes, I hope so too. I have also had Vacherons, Langes and Panerais go back so didn't expect it from Omega after all the hype for this one...

Haha, I was baffled too!
By: BWA : March 4th, 2020-01:40
Its working fine now and it does need 30 to 40 turns like we all give our manuals. Seems the man didn't used the right words to explain...well let's give him the benefit of the doubt😄
I don’t doubt what you say...
By: Cpt Scarlet : January 31st, 2020-01:31
But I would like to reassure you as every Speedmaster that I own including the beautiful Moonshine have operated perfectly. I’m sure that you will have it back on your wrist to enjoy very soon. Do you have a photo of it to share with us?
Movement damage could've occurred . . .
By: Dr No : January 31st, 2020-13:29
. . . en route to the point of sale. Unlikely, but not impossible. I'm not sure if you're suggesting all cal 3861 movements are suspect. My sense is that your experience is an outlier, and not representative. Cordially, Art
Yes..
By: BWA : January 31st, 2020-17:49
I am only referring to my watch, where the caliber didn't run the full course of winding promised and stopped. Hoping Omega will sort it out for good and I can continue enjoying to wear it.
Oh BWA!! Regret to read that and can well understand your disappointment!
By: Subexplorer : January 31st, 2020-15:50
I’m sure Omega will be very interested to fix this problem asap and hope will be returning the watch in perfect working condition for you to enjoy it ss you deserve. It shouldn’t have happened this but you know... it happens some times. Please keep us pos...
Thanks

Yeah, Oomega are. I reached out to Raynald Aeschlimann, the CEO and he was quick to respond. I long to wear it soon..
The steel Apollo 11 works, too, Abel . . .
By: Dr No : January 31st, 2020-13:33
. . . and thanks for volunteering - the more, the better! Start by giving the Speedmaster a full wind set precisely to an atomic clock, then wind it once per day. At night, take it off your wrist and place it dial up. Same the second night but dial down. ...

Your results are reason enough for every 3861 owner . . .

Brought the Moonshine for vacation and has been testing it: Day 1: 1s Day 2: -2s Day 3: 0s Day 4: 0s All these days , watch was wind everyday but sat face up for days 1/2 and in watch roll for days 3/4. I’m wearing it today but I think I’m very happy with...
