WS November Edition “Favorite Winter Watches” is Open Now!

Nov 01, 2024,13:28 PM

Hello dear friends!

Winter is arriving to our members living in the Northern Hemisphere and I wonder if our friends have a special fondness for wearing certain watches in this cold Season.

Here in the South where I live our Winters are mild but I specially enjoy wearing in that Season my gold (and some steel ones as well) watches or high end timepieces under long sleeves of sweaters or jackets, those are watches which I don´t dare to wear in Summer with short sleeved garments for safety reasons.

Our Theme for this November edition of WS asks our participants to share their favorite Winter watches along the weekend while letting us know a bit about them.

The event begins today Friday, and will close on Sunday evening.

You may begin posting right now in this same thread!

We have the usual categories which will be judged by our WS Team:

Watch Of The Week - Captain Scarlet

Best “Classic” category - Art (Watches of ten years or more)

Best Static Shot - Abel

Best Wrist Shot - KMII

Results will be posted during Monday 4th depending on judges Time Zones

I wish we will have another enjoyable WS event with many participants sharing their awesome watches.

Have a relaxed weekend dear friends!!

Your Host, Abel

PS: I will be posting a few of my Winter Watches later.

Love especially the JLC E 872, the JLC Geomatic in RG and especially your last shot of the JLC E 855, which is simply beautiful. All the best Thomas

Was a piece i had about a decade or two ago. This morning happen to be looking at backup files from years ago and this caught my eye.

Rose gold / multi-gold color case with intricate matching 'flip' top cover. Came with pin buckle from factory, yet mine needed the Patek Philippe Deployant (worn 'backwards') as the head is quite hefty and my thin wrist/shape benefitted from the Deployant...

Booaaah!

That’s a Patek I really like!! Love the very special appearance and the very romantic dial. Beautiful!!!! 🙏

… which I don’t dare to wear with a short sleeved garment. It’s faceted bezel and bracelet center links are so shiny under day light that it telegraphs so loudly that I’m wearing a Rolex ! ...

Yes dear HS, The Sky Dweller is a very shiny watch. Guess it is the only critique I can do it though may be I would have thanked Rolex if it had made it in a smaller 40 mm case.

By: Subexplorer : November 1st, 2024-20:46
Anyway I appreciate it so much having the most complex movement Rolex makes today and offering an unique system to set time and calendar as well as complications of Annual Calendar (intriguing indeed) and GMT indication. Thank you for your kind comments. ...

Wow, What a splash to present your treasures !!

Not easy to choose just one shot or watch among these you posted as they are all awesome pictures but if pressed to do it I would go for your 1675 against mountains. Fantastic! Thank you so much for your kind comments on my own selection! Hagwe, Abel

I am biased (towards the watch) 🤷🏻‍♂️

But that first shot of the Freak in the snow is absolutely epic. As are the rest but the combination of the model and the picture really does it for me 🙌🏻👌🏻❄️👏🏻

The Futurematic is a watch I love so much. Regret to say I never found one here in my hunting grounds. A very unique timepice from JLC it is. The La Tradition is a watch I love so much. It had been haunting me for years till I finally captured mine a coup...

I know we both are club members. 😉
