Jul 17, 2020,05:24 AM
Hello dear friends!
I have the pleasure of being your host this week end. As I announced last Wednesday, the theme for this new edition of our classic WS contest is "Connections" and I am inviting the participants to explore the relationship between our most beloved watches with persons or events that we keep living in our hearts and our souls forever.
These connections which make a watch so special to us and preferred over others in our collections regardless of brands, models or prices.
These watches may be connected with relatives, friends, weddings, births, achievements, travels or places and I´m sure every member will have at least one watch with connections which can be shared here with a photograph and a brief description of the motive it is so special.
As usual we have three Categories to enter pictures and you may enter shots in any of them or in two or three categories:
Best Wrist Scan
Best Static Shot
Best Watch of the Week (to be awarded among the watches shown in this thread)
We aim to have the participation of as many members as possible as the enjoyment of this WS classic depends on the posts we receive from them.
If you are a new member or have never participated please feel free to post your shots. No special skills are needed to post. We always appreciate your participation and the stories and watches you share with us and the feedback it generates among the fellow watch lovers here.
You are cordially invited to begin posting in this same thread now!
Have a nice, safe and enjoyable week end my dear friends!
Best cordial regards, Abel.
PS:
I am posting a four watches to illustrate the Theme:
My Liga watch received in around 1958 when I was ten years old as a present from my parents for my First Communion and my first watch ever.
My Rolex Submariner 5513 from 1965 which reminds me of a similar one taken from me in at gun point during a robbery. Original was my first Rolex, a true dream come true and a present from my parents for my 18th birthday in 1966. This particular watch was found after many years as a substitute to the robbed one and is very very similar to that one.
My Omega Flightmaster, which I call my "Friendship Omega" connects me with my dear friend Art and both he and I have told its story about friendship and passion for watches before.
My Omega Speedmaster 145.012-67 from 1969 connects me with the memories of an extraordinary event I witnessed a July 20th 1969 viewing those amazing scenes in our old B&W TV set showing the first steps of men on the Moon.
