WristScan “Target Acquired” - Now Live ! …

Nov 26, 2021,13:20 PM

Hello dear friends !

We are now live ! …
I have the pleasure to be your host for this edition of WristScan and our theme is “Target Acquired”.

I’m sure that most of us are constantly on the lookout for a new “Target” to acquire. My most recent hit was the new Tudor MN21 and it made me think of a few of my recent “Targets Acquired”.

This weekend share and show your recent “Target Acquired” and tell us all about it to inspire others in our community.

The event will close on Sunday at around 17:00 GMT and I will announce the results.

The categories are slightly different this weekend as I will be giving my review of the “Targets Acquired” as the host in our results thread.

Looking forward to you joining us and sharing a few laughs for this edition of WristScan.

Best regards
Captain

I enjoy vintage watches, especially simpler, time-only or time-date watches. And especially those in 'jumbo' sizes of 36mm and above, as many vintage time-only watches are 35mm and below But somehow, despite a wide range of brands collected, including sev...

It’s always very satisfying when you find a nice vintage target to add to your collection. I know this feeling very well ;-)). The bracelet looks very cool and comfortable. Best regards Captain

Next programmed target is a Tudor M.N.21, from the special batch intended for the French Navy personnel Meanwhile, let’s see what fate will bring to my attention

Good luck with that mission.

This watch was a surprise to me. I had been not paying attention to watches for about a year to a year in a half after covid. So I must have missed this release. For a month, I had been on an exhaustive search for a VC tradionelle in platinum (boutiques h...

Hi Kevin …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : November 26th, 2021-19:33
That’s a superb target that you have acquired and your story should inspire others in our community. I always believe that you have to make your own luck in this world, and you definitely did that. Thank you for sharing this with us on WristScan this week...

I like crosshairs, and that watch is beautiful! Much infused with the LF DNA in design.

 By: NT931 : November 27th, 2021-03:08
And all the best for the search for the VC Traditionelle Platinum. If it's the 38mm one with cal 4400, it is a terrific watch in all its various incarnations.

Thanks!

 By: TeutonicCarFan : November 27th, 2021-12:58
Yes the 38mm small seconds (originally patrimony tradinonelle, now just traditionnelle collection). I know there are no new ones available in the USA, maybe a like new version will shoe up in the market. In thinking maybe the line gets an update for 2022,...

Perfect case size !

 By: Cpt Scarlet : November 28th, 2021-23:32

Wow !.. Really like your LF; the crosshair gives it a relaxed elegance, so does the whole dial + hands !

Thanks a lot, Captain!

Most of my watches came my way, while I was floating but this Lange 1815 moon phase in honey gold from 2010 was a target, a sting! Well, if there is honey in the game the butterly turns into a beee!🐝 Have a good Saturday evening, dear Captain 🥃🥃. ...

Good evening dear Count …

Good to have you joining us for WristScan and if I may say so, in considerable style with the beautiful Lange 1815 Moon. Can you remind me when you hit on this one ??? Best regards Captain

That was some time ago, in 2010, from an AD in London.

My first "true" collector's watch and my personal favourite 🦄 in my collection, next to my Breguet.

It looks very good 🥃🥃

Have been searching for several pieces to get started in PP, and between 2 fantastic ADs, these all landed within the same month… So…with Santa’s help, I jumped on them all Honeymoon period activated! To be honest, I’m leaving most towards the 6119g and l...

Hello Niall …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : November 28th, 2021-09:46
Thank you for joining us for WristScan this weekend and sharing your thoughts on these three beautiful Patek Philippe watches. Each one is special in a different way. Will you buy another PP in the future to add to your collection ?

Thanks Captain!

 By: NoH : December 2nd, 2021-20:52
Yes, I’m always looking, though mainly window-shopping (or at least that’s what I tell my wife!?!). I’m keen to see the new green 5930p. That would certainly be a contender, though a bit pricey. In the current catalog the next on my list is the 5212a, and...

The dial is for the new Series 2, right? Look forward to your pictures after you get it

Hi Sfwatchlover, new Series 2

 By: ninolitaliano : November 28th, 2021-23:56
i received in April the new chronomter of Monsieur Coyon. but after a month of daily wear, i decided that this exceptional movment deserved a more flamboyant dial, and since then, i look forward to my new "Coyon" with its black enamel dial. What do you th...

Dear Ninolitaliano, it is a beautiful watch and I especially like the hands!

 By: Sfwatchlover : November 29th, 2021-00:33
The hands are exquisitely made and they are quite unusual, at least to me. It is so wonderful that you are “upgrading” the dial to match the movement! It must be a very exciting project and I guess only possible by working with an independent watch maker....

These hands were designed by the daughter of Monsieur Coyon

 By: ninolitaliano : November 29th, 2021-14:25
they will be on the new enamel dial.

It’s always very satisfying…

To hit a target that you have been hunting. Your Breguet La Tradition looks beautiful and I completely understand your motivation to get this one. The question is what will be your next target ? ;-))

thanks, Captain!

 By: terbaboom : November 28th, 2021-11:13
next big target will be a modern Patek Philippe chronograph, hopefully 😅

thanks, HS!

. . . with hands posed for effect, i e, the movement isn't running. Ref 2493 is 36 mm, and the first chronometer Omega produced after the Centenary issues of 1948. Bagging this one essentially completes my collection; the only chronometer movement missing...

I really like this one Art ….

I bet it feels like silk on the wrist. Only good vintage offers this.

The usual order is service first, then strap and buckle selection . . .

 By: Dr No : November 28th, 2021-17:36
. . . but since my watchmaker is so busy, this time the strap and buckle were sourced first. Brown lizard tailored by Attila Aszodi, fastened with a '60s vintage Ω gold-plated buckle. "Dessert before dinner." ;-) ...

Good choice 👍
