WristScan 26.03. - 28.03.2021 "Watch-Limbo" is now live!

Mar 26, 2021,10:10 AM

Dear friends, it might come as a relief for some here that my teaser was wrongly giving the idea, that you would need to measure yourself. Since all here is about watches "Watch-Limbo" is asking for the slimmest watch in your collection. For a Purist a traditional watch has to be slim, but with so many appealing big watches, the thinking has changed. So whether your slimmest watch is under 6 mm or 26 mm, lower or raise the fire bar and do the limbo! And if you don't know the thickness of your watch, we will know or will estimate with our expert eyes ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. I start the limbo at 16.2 mm

Jj74yd

Going straight down to 6.3 mm

A warm welcome to new members to participate in the fun and to so the watch-limbo!

Great theme Count, looking forward to seeing the watches (and brands) that will win this week! I just hope none of our members has the 2mm Piaget Altipiano yet, otherwise it's going to be a real landslide! ;-)

Here's for you two watches I rarely show, which most probably take the cake in my collection when it comes to thinness: First, a very simple Patek 5119R, but one which is very dear to my heart as my first Patek ever (bought in May 2008)! And then this Jae...

That is funny: I bought my first (and only Patek ๐Ÿ˜ข) also in 2008

You are doing the limbo from around 9 - 13 mm, my friend ๐Ÿ˜€. A good weekend to you, too!

Definitely -- and I hope and pray we can reach that point sooner rather than later, given that we are well over a year into this insanity! ;-))

Wearing it is about as close to a tattoo as I'm going to get! Kent

Hello KKochheiser! Two superb slim watches you bring here. I love the Octo design so much. A true beauty. Of course the classy Cartier as well which I feel is thinner than the Octo!

 By: Subexplorer : March 27th, 2021-17:48
Thatยดs a real feat as the Octo is really thin! Well played! Have a nice weekend and enjoy your slim watches! Cheers! Abel

Thanks Abel!

 By: kkochheiser : March 27th, 2021-18:17
You are right, the specs I have show the Cartier at 5.1mm and the Octo at 5.15. For all that extra height you do get an extra hand and an automatic movement. I will say the Tank Louis feels thinner on my wrist, in good part due to the strap versus the ama...

Thanks a lot for the clarification Kent. They are very near in thinness indeed. Itยดs amazing Bulgari can pack an automatic movement in such a slim case. A beautiful design with a lot of...

Wow this is seldom seen or kept these days.

I only know 1 person who had this

 By: Cookies : March 28th, 2021-10:02
But he traded it off last year. I think it was the blue version. He used to be a frequent member of this forum 8-10 years ago. They donโ€™t make watches like these anymore...itโ€™s so bold, so different.

Thatยดs an amazing timepiece dear Brauner! So many awesome details to enjoy while wearing it. I imagine the pleasure of having it strapped on the wrist.

 By: Subexplorer : March 27th, 2021-17:55

No pressure, dear Art.

By: COUNT DE MONET : March 27th, 2021-13:35
We would have loved to see that picture, but your Gฤ—neve is more thean making up for that.

Those luggs look from any angle so light, almost floral.

By: COUNT DE MONET : March 27th, 2021-13:52
The side profile pictures reveal how long the luggs reach back, how curved they are. I want one too, Tim ...

Thanks, it's a keeper ;-)

 By: Tim Jackson : March 27th, 2021-14:42
Good theme this week, most of my watches are not in the thin category, had to really think before I remembered this one in the lurking safe. Cheers, Tim
