While I have different depths of passion for specific watches in the collection, this timepiece really shook me when it was announced and released at SIHH 2017. This was AP's first full ceramic case and bracelet model, and I was thrilled it was with a perpetual calendar. Around the same time, I had looked at Offshores with some form of Rubber or Ceramic bezel, as I had always had problems dinging or banging the case on all sorts of objects. Full ceramic - I felt could solve all of these concerns about scratches and dings and all sorts of wear problems - and would be an ideal daily wearer.
Fast forward to now. Cumulatively in the last twelve months this watch (and equally the CODE perpetual) get the most wrist time. That being said, while my other watches show lots of "love scars" physically (and led me to look at stickers on a new AP, much to the chagrin of many collectors), the Ceramic Perpetual still looks exactly new as when I purchased it.
I've taken this on many holidays, in the pool, to the beach, and many other places - and so far, it's operated flawlessly and has not experienced any scratches, damage, or the like. I also like the fact that it has been "under the radar" - even when I go to other watch boutiques not many people really recognise the model or the brand.
It is probably the most I've ever spent on a watch - and it's something that I really have an incredibly deep connection and "love" for it!
Thanks for giving me the chance to share!!
Cheers
Peter
