Soon to be . . .

. . . an old love.
Tomorrow, in fact.
;-(
My love for watches began at an early age, but never realized until I was in the middle of my forties. Yes, I had a Rolex AirKing, but that was my only watch for fifteen years.
Then, in early '01, I discovered Glashรผtte Original. And fell in love with the Karree perpetual.
When told how much it was, I blanched, and bought the far less costly Karree chronograph instead. Then, a Senator power reserve.
No avail . . . I was hooked. Two years later, this silver and black Karree perpetual entered my collection. Followed by the two-tone grey Karree, a Karree Panodate, and finally a rose gold Karree perpetual.
They're all gone now. All that's left is the face that launched a thousand ships, the silver and black Karree perpetual.
I'll miss the Grey Lady, but she's going to a good home, where she'll receive the attention she deserves. My passion for vintage Omega grew to the point where my interest in contemporary watchmaking fell by the wayside.
I've been wearing it since Thursday; another day, and she'll be gone for good.
Farewell, Lady Grey.
