your opening post gives an ample range of possible replies concerning the monetary, personal or horological value of our watches.
Interestingly enough, hardly anyone here answered your challenge in terms of RSP, reflecting the fact that most of us here - although some purists own incredibly expensive watches - do not mainly consider watches by their raw material values. Other possible explanations might be modesty or fear of envy or exposure, but I tend to favour my first point.
