the lugs do not taper. I'm sure you'll agree that every little thing makes a difference! I also think you chose the strap wisely—the whole presentation is impressive.
As a contrast, here's a 34mm on my 17.25 in (18.4 cm) wrist,
which for many of these alluded to "little" reasons looks like a smaller diameter (at least to my eye). It's a thicker watch, to begin with, and the contrasting golden bezel is wide and prominent. Your Omega has very small numerals that are set way out toward the perimeter of the dial (they could be said to "push" the dial outward) and the slender bezel completes this process. The Favre Leuba's large 6, 9, 12 here actually draw the eye in toward the center! This whole business of perceived size is fascinating.
